How does FranceConnect work?
The FranceConnect solution relies on an authentication system based on the linking user accounts with identity providers (FI).
Identity providers do not hold all the user's identifying information. They generally only hold basic identification information, such as name, address and date of birth. More sensitive information, such as social security number or identity card number, is generally held by the French administration.
To date, several IFs have been integrated into FranceConnect, including :
- Impots.gouv.fr
- Ameli.fr
- La Poste
- Mobile Connect and Me
So when the user wishes to connect to an online service via FranceConnectThe first step is to select the identity provider with which you already have an account.
